Project Tracking

The Project Tracking Report
The project tracking report compares the data you enetred in the planning
phase of a project with the actual data entered as you work on it. The
report the shows you the variance between what you estimated and what
you've actually done.
The report is divided into three main sections for labor, expenses, and
travel, and each line item of data is shown in this report. At the very
end of the report, the grand totals for planned activities, actual activities,
and the variance between them is displayed.
If the variance is a positive number, that means the cost of the project
is less than you estimated. If the variance is a negative number, that
means the cost of the project has exceeded the estimate you provided your
client. Negative numbers are shown in parentheses, i.e. a variance of
($243.95) indicates that the cost has exceeded the estimate by that amount.
